This weekend we took our last trip :( que triste to Valencia with is a beach town in the South. However I will start with the Thursday before because we had an activity here in Segovia, wine tasting. Classy pregame that hit a little harder than expected. First that morning we received very very sad news that one of the teachers on the programs dad is fatally ill and only has so much time so she left and the wine tasting was also to say goodbye. We wanted to get her a present for being so amazing through out the entire trip but since we had such short notice we ended up getting a card to say sorry, post cards to sign and tell her how amazing she is/how great the trip was for like a momento to keep always, and a huge bouquet of flowers. It was so sad and also made us realize how close we all are to going home!
The wine tasting was so so fun. We had 4 different types of wine and tortilla espanola, bread and cheese to pace ourselves. Not sure it worked so well, most of us were quite boracho by the time it ended at 930. Then we went home to regroup and go out for a girls 21st birthday. For most the night was insane, and the bus ride the next day not so much fun. However I took it easy which is odd for me (made up for it Saturday though nooo worries). So Friday we got to Valencia and took a 3 hour tour, always our favorite. However, it is a very pretty town, and more modern than a lot of Spain I have seen. Friday night we walked around trying to go in places but everything was so expensive and kinda empty. We asked the next day why and it’s because the economy is so bad people just drink in the streets. Which makes sense when a drink in one club was 8 euros.
Saturday was beach day. The water was perfecttt and beautiful, I never wanted to leave. First time at a topless beach as well, so that was interesting and strange how comfortable people are, guess it’s the European way. The only bummer about this day was that the place we at lunch tried to charge us 25 euros each for our meals when we asked to split them. It was horrible and luckily we were able to convince them no, but others weren’t as lucky. I tried paella too for the first time, and not my favorite, i’d rather stick to my good ol tortilla espanola. Then for the night we returned to the beach to go to the clubs there and found this really cool out door one with lots of lights. We stayed out extremely late and for this reason i’m still struggling to function normally.
Sunday we went to an aquarium and saw a dolphin show, which then i decided if being a doctor doesn’t work out that is where i am moving to become a dolphin trainer. Then long bus ride homeeee and now I’m a little sick so i need to rest up for the final week!! So sad to say this :( It’s seriously going to be so weird leaving this surreal amazing life.
